Who are the main characters in Stupid Never Dies?

A spoiler-light index of the verified cast: Davy and Julia, the mall allies and their services, Everent, and the Four Generals.

Official Stupid Never Dies key art: Davy and the supporting cast in front of the mall.
Quick answer

Davy is the playable zombie hero, and Julia is the frozen woman he hopes to revive. Dr. Frank, Bessie, Goyle and Acelino support him from the mall, each with a service role, but none of them is playable: the developers confirm Davy is the only playable character. The official roster also names the Four Generals, Surtr R.S., Dragul, Takiyasha-Hime and Wolfgang, and GPTRACK50's September announcement added Everent. Use the official English spellings rather than translation variants such as Betsy or Oil.

Character index

The table lists every character we could verify from official material and companion coverage. Roles describe what each character does, not what happens to them. Story outcomes are left out to avoid spoilers.

Playable status is kept separate from story roles. Appearing in the story or the mall does not make a character playable. Only Davy is controlled by the player.

Davy

Davy is the zombie protagonist and the only playable character, as the developers confirm in a September 2026 interview. He ventures into a monster-filled dungeon in the hope of reviving Julia. The official story description sets reaching a place called KOM as the way to pursue that goal.

Being a zombie shapes how Davy fights. The developers explain that he has no conventional dodge or guard, relying on the Stupid Parry instead. He bites enemies to recover health and devours elite-monster cores to take on their forms through Style Eat.

Davy can switch between eleven Styles, from his base Zombie form to ten monster forms. Body Hack lets him modify his head, arms and legs with equipment. Our Styles guide covers every form.

Julia

Julia is the frozen woman Davy hopes to revive. Her revival is the objective that drives the whole story. The official story description frames it as both a goal and an open question.

Julia is not a playable character. Official material also includes a fictional music credit, DAVY & JULIA. That is an in-world credit, not a performer's name.

Whether Davy succeeds is not confirmed before launch. Our ending page explains what is and is not known about the finale. We will not publish theories about her fate as fact.

The mall allies

Gematsu's coverage of the second trailer connects four allies with specific services. Dr. Frank is linked with records, Bessie with Zombie Skills, Goyle with analytics and Acelino with Body Hack. GPTRACK50's own announcement adds more detail on two of them.

Bessie runs Bessie Burger, which unlocks Zombie Skills and improves the rarity options at later level-up choices. Monster parts from the dungeon are a resource for her. Acelino develops and manages equipment, and the Ink on the Brain shop handles OT Gear and Body Hack.

Dr. Frank's and Goyle's services have not been documented in more detail. None of the allies is playable. Our upgrades guide explains how their services fit the game loop.

How the allies fit the game loop

Davy's allies run the services you use between dungeon dives. You prepare in the mall, dive into the dungeon at level 1, grow quickly and return with resources such as monster parts. The developers describe one cycle as roughly 20 to 30 minutes.

Bessie's upgrades raise the rarity of level-up options, which improves future dives. Acelino's equipment work matters in every form, since Body Hack gear stays functional across Style transformations. Their services are where persistent progress happens.

The mall is introduced in the free First Bite Demo, alongside Bite, Style Eat, Body Hack and Davy Burst. That makes the demo the easiest way to meet the allies before launch. Its save data can carry into the full game.

Everent

GPTRACK50's First Bite Demo announcement on September 4, 2026 adds Everent to the character line-up. The same announcement profiles the Four Generals. Everent's role has not been described in the sources we checked.

We list Everent here so the index is complete. We will add a role description once official material explains it. Until then, treat any claims about Everent's story role as unconfirmed.

The Four Generals

The official roster names the Four Generals: Surtr R.S., Dragul, Takiyasha-Hime and Wolfgang. GPTRACK50's September 2026 announcement profiles all four. Beyond those profiles, their story roles are not detailed in the sources we checked.

Surtr R.S. is the only General with a documented boss fight so far. GPTRACK50's Surtr R.S. video identifies him as a Four General and states that his encounter cannot be fought in the demo. The matching Steam announcement says the same.

Fights with Dragul, Takiyasha-Hime and Wolfgang have not been documented yet. Our bosses page lists only confirmed encounters. New fights will be added when official footage or the released game confirms them.

Official spellings

Translation variants of character names circulate online. Examples include Betsy for Bessie and Oil for another name. This wiki uses the official English spellings from the official site and GPTRACK50's announcements.

Using the official names makes it easier to find accurate information. It also avoids confusing different characters with similar translated names. When in doubt, check the official English site.

The official Japanese site uses its own Japanese terminology for the game. This wiki currently covers English names only. Other languages may follow when translated pages are added.

Voices and music credits

English voice-overs are confirmed, with thirteen subtitle language options reported for the game. Steam marks English full audio. No performer-to-character cast list has been verified.

The ending theme, “Restless, Reckless, Never Die, Fearless,” is credited to DAVY. That is a fictional, in-world credit rather than a real performer's name. Our voice actors page tracks the cast status.

English voice-over is confirmed by Steam's English full audio marker and the official Weekly Famitsu interview. Thirteen subtitle language options are reported in coverage of the second trailer. Check the Steam listing for the full language table.

Where to see the cast

GPTRACK50's Second Trailer, published June 10, 2026, introduces the companions and gameplay. Use it alongside the written second-trailer announcement for names and service roles. The Third Trailer, released with the demo announcement in September, adds more character context.

The free First Bite Demo introduces the mall, where you meet Davy's allies. It covers approximately the first two hours of the game. Its save data can carry into the full game, which releases on October 21, 2026.
