Quick answer

Stupid Never Dies releases on October 21, 2026 on PS5 and PC via Steam. Selected regions show October 22, 2026 because of time zones, so check your local storefront rather than treating the two dates as a delay. The Glorious Idiot edition's pre-purchase listing on Steam schedules advance access for October 19 at 22:00 UTC, which is separate from the standard release. The free First Bite Demo is available now, and its save carries into the full game.

The confirmed date: October 21, 2026

GPTRACK50 announced the final release date on July 29, 2026, alongside an official Release Date Announcement video on YouTube. The announcement sets a global launch of October 21, 2026. It also explains that selected regions will see October 22 because of time zones. That dated announcement is the one to rely on.

The US PlayStation page displays October 21, 2026 as well. GPTRACK50's later First Bite Demo announcement, published on September 4, 2026, repeats the same October 21 and October 22 distinction. Several official sources therefore agree on the date.

On Steam, the full-game listing is the place to check the current status for PC. Store pages can show local dates and times, which is why your listing may differ from the global date. The difference is about time zones, not a different launch.

Release date at a glance

The table summarizes every date that matters for launch. Each row lists the source that confirms it. Advance access and the standard release are listed separately on purpose.

Exact unlock times for the standard release in each region were not published in the sources we checked. We have not added a live countdown for that reason. Check your local storefront close to launch for the precise time.

Why some regions show October 22

The October 22 date is not a delay or a separate regional launch. GPTRACK50's announcement explains it as a time-zone effect for selected regions. When the game unlocks on October 21 in one part of the world, it may already be October 22 elsewhere.

This is why store pages in different countries can display different dates. The global launch is the same event. Do not describe the two dates as two separate releases.

If you are unsure which date applies to you, check the store you plan to buy from. The PlayStation Store and Steam both show local information for your region. Both list release information by region.

Glorious Idiot advance access

The Steam full-game listing shows a Glorious Idiot pre-purchase option with advance access scheduled for October 19, 2026 at 22:00 UTC. That access is tied to the edition and is distinct from the standard release on October 21. Standard edition owners start on the global release date.

On the US PlayStation page, the Standard and Glorious Idiot editions are listed at $49.99 and $59.99. Those are regional listing prices, not worldwide guarantees. Check your own store for local pricing and edition contents.

Advance-access timing can be adjusted by the store. Recheck the listing shortly before you plan to play. We have not verified whether the same advance access applies on PS5.

Older release windows no longer apply

Earlier announcements described the release as simply “2026” and later as “Fall 2026.” Older interviews and the June trailers use those windows. The July 29, 2026 announcement with the exact date supersedes them.

You may still see the old windows in cached search snippets or older articles. They are not a sign of a delay. When sources conflict, the latest dated official announcement wins.

We also avoid copying relative countdowns from search snippets, since they go out of date quickly. This page shows fixed dates with their sources instead. That keeps the information accurate as launch approaches.

Platforms at launch

Stupid Never Dies launches on PlayStation 5 and on PC through Steam. GPTRACK50 identifies the PC release specifically as Steam. The full-game Steam app number is 3486530.

A Standard physical edition is confirmed for PS5 in selected regions. It does not imply a boxed PC version or a physical Glorious Idiot edition. Our physical copy page covers it in detail.

The US PlayStation page also labels the game PS5 Pro Enhanced. That label alone does not establish frame-rate or resolution targets. See our PS5 page and Steam page for platform-specific details.

What launches with the game

At launch, players can buy the Standard or Glorious Idiot edition digitally. A Standard physical edition is available for PS5 in selected regions. The free First Bite Demo remains the way to try the game before buying.

Steam lists Steam Achievements for the full game and marks English full audio. Coverage of the second trailer reports English voice-overs with thirteen subtitle language options. The PS5 version is listed as offline single-player.

The game is single-player only, with Davy as the only playable character. No multiplayer mode appears in the sources we checked. Our characters page introduces Davy and his allies.

Play the demo before launch

The free First Bite Demo is available on PS5 and PC. It covers approximately the first two hours of the full game. GPTRACK50 confirms that its save data can carry into the full game.

That means you can start playing now and continue on launch day. Transfers between different platforms have not been confirmed, so play the demo on the platform you plan to buy on. The demo includes two boss encounters, Afreet and Phoenix Zaza Hotfeathers.

A September 2026 update improved targeting and added an optional Combat Camera Assist. Our demo guide has download links and the full list of what it includes. It also explains where to find it on PS5 and PC.

How long you will be playing

Developer estimates put the main story at roughly 20 to 30 hours. Skilled players are expected to finish in about 20 hours, and average players in about 30. The director also mentions content after the main story.

These figures are developer estimates rather than measured averages. They will be checked against real playtimes after launch. Our how long to beat page breaks them down.

Ending theme announced with the date

The July 29, 2026 announcement also published the ending-theme title, “Restless, Reckless, Never Die, Fearless,” credited to DAVY. An official music video was released the same day. The credit is fictional and does not identify a real performer.

The song confirms nothing about the story's outcome. Our ending page explains what is and is not known about the finale. We will update it once the released game can be checked.
