A verified explanation of the Stupid Never Dies ending has not been established. The official premise sets Julia's revival as Davy's goal, but that premise does not prove the final outcome, a happy ending or multiple endings. The developers have deliberately left the meaning of recent trailer imagery for players to discover in the game. What is confirmed is the ending theme: “Restless, Reckless, Never Die, Fearless,” credited to DAVY.
The confirmed story setup
You play as Davy, a zombie who ventures into a monster-filled dungeon in the hope of reviving Julia. Julia is described as a frozen woman Davy hopes to bring back. The official story description frames her revival as both a question and an objective.
The stated campaign goal is to reach a place called KOM to pursue that revival. Along the way, Davy is supported by Dr. Frank, Bessie, Goyle and Acelino. The official roster also names the Four Generals: Surtr R.S., Dragul, Takiyasha-Hime and Wolfgang.
Producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi's April 2026 interview with VGC established the resurrection quest. It did not disclose a finale. That is the extent of what official sources say about the story's direction. Everything beyond it remains unconfirmed.
Who is Julia?
Julia is the woman Davy hopes to revive, described in official coverage as frozen. She is not a playable character, since the developers confirm Davy is the only character you control. Her situation is the reason Davy enters the dungeon at all.
Official material also includes a fictional music credit, DAVY & JULIA. Like the DAVY credit on the ending theme, it is an in-world credit rather than a performer's name. No voice cast for Julia has been verified.
English voice-overs are confirmed, with thirteen subtitle language options reported for the game. Who voices Julia or Davy is not documented in the sources we checked. Our voice actors page tracks the cast status.
What the developers have said about the ending
In a September 2026 interview with Inven Global, the developers acknowledged that imagery in the September trailer had caught players' attention. They deliberately left its explanation to the game itself. No developer statement confirms what happens to Julia.
That means any claim about the final scene before launch is speculation. We do not publish theories as facts, and we do not treat trailer frames as proof of the outcome. The Third Trailer is useful context, not a story spoiler.
The game releases on October 21, 2026, with some regions seeing October 22 because of time zones. An ending explanation will only appear here once it can be traced to a complete playthrough or primary story evidence. Until then, this page focuses on what can be confirmed.
Older interviews and trailers also used release windows that later announcements replaced. That is a reminder to check the date of any story claim. The July 29, 2026 announcement is the reference point for launch timing.
The ending theme: Restless, Reckless, Never Die, Fearless
GPTRACK50's release-date announcement on July 29, 2026 published the ending-theme title: “Restless, Reckless, Never Die, Fearless.” The song is credited to DAVY. An official music video was released on YouTube the same day. Both are linked in the sources for this section.
A theme-song credit is not an ending synopsis. The music video confirms the song, but not the final cutscene or the narrative outcome. Its existence tells you nothing about whether Julia is revived. Lyrics are not reproduced on this site.
The DAVY credit is a fictional, in-world music credit. It should not be read as the name of a real performer. The identity of any singer behind the credit has not been verified.
Are there multiple endings?
No source we checked confirms multiple endings, a true ending or a choice tree. We also have not verified a post-credits scene. Claims about any of these should be treated as unconfirmed.
The director does mention content that continues after the main story. Its connection to the ending has not been documented. We will cover it once its structure can be confirmed from the released game.
If you are worried about missing an ending, there is no verified missable condition to warn you about. We will add one only if it is documented. This page will be dated when that changes.
Preview coverage so far has focused on combat and presentation rather than story outcomes. GamesRadar+'s hands-on preview, for example, discusses biting, transformations and counterattacks. It does not describe the ending.
How long until you reach the ending
Developer estimates put the main story at roughly 20 to 30 hours. Skilled players are expected to finish in about 20 hours and average players in about 30. These are developer estimates, not measured averages.
The free First Bite Demo covers approximately the first two hours, so it shows only the opening. Its save data carries into the full game. Playing it gives you a head start on the road to the ending.
See our how long to beat page for a breakdown of each estimate. The walkthrough page explains which parts of the route are verified today. Each page shows the date its information was checked.
Your skill affects how quickly you get there. Davy's dungeon level resets each dive, while long-term upgrades make later runs faster. The developers' 20-hour figure is specifically for skilled players.
Avoiding spoilers after launch
Once the game is out, ending details will spread quickly through videos and forums. If you want to avoid them, be careful with thumbnails and video titles. Official channels are less likely to reveal the finale.
When we publish an ending explanation, it will be placed below a clear spoiler warning. The setup section on this page will stay spoiler-free. That way you can read the confirmed basics without seeing the outcome.
Our characters page also keeps spoilers out of its role descriptions. It lists who Davy meets, not what happens to them. Story outcomes are left for you to discover.
What would confirm the ending
A reliable ending explanation needs traceable evidence from the released game. That means a complete playthrough with dates and platform, or primary story material from the developer. Trailer imagery and theme songs are not enough.
We will not invent a true-ending requirement, a choice tree or a post-credits scene. If you finish the game and want to help, send us your platform, version and what you saw. Screenshots or clips make verification much easier.
Until then, the honest answer is that the ending is unconfirmed. Davy's goal is clear, and so is the name of the ending theme. Whether he succeeds is something the developers want you to find out in the game.
We also follow the official channels for new story material. GPTRACK50's news page and the official Steam announcements are where new announcements appear first. Both are linked from our homepage.
