Yes. Stupid Never Dies is an announced PS5 game, releasing on October 21, 2026, with some regions seeing October 22 because of time zones. On the US PlayStation page you can choose between two digital editions, Standard at $49.99 and Glorious Idiot at $59.99, and a Standard physical disc is confirmed for selected regions. A free First Bite Demo is also available on PS5. The page labels the game PS5 Pro Enhanced, but that label alone does not establish frame-rate or resolution targets.
PS5 availability and release date
PlayStation 5 is one of the two announced platforms, alongside PC via Steam. GPTRACK50's release-date announcement on July 29, 2026 confirms PS5 and sets a global launch of October 21, 2026. Selected regions see October 22 because of time zones.
The US PlayStation page displays October 21, 2026 as well. It identifies the game as a PS5 title with offline single-player. The game is single-player only, and Davy is the only playable character.
Gematsu's report on the First Bite Demo independently identifies PS5 and PC availability for the trial. Our release date page explains the October 21 and October 22 distinction in full. It also lists the Glorious Idiot advance-access timing on Steam.
Editions and prices on PS5
The US PlayStation page lists two digital editions: Standard and Glorious Idiot. The displayed prices are $49.99 for Standard and $59.99 for Glorious Idiot. These are regional US listing prices, not worldwide guarantees.
Edition contents can differ by store and region, so check the PlayStation Store in your country. On Steam, the Glorious Idiot pre-purchase includes advance access scheduled for October 19, 2026 at 22:00 UTC. We have not verified whether the same advance access applies on PS5.
No source we checked describes either edition as granting gameplay advantages. Treat edition extras as listed by the store rather than assuming stat boosts. We will document any gameplay effect only with a source.
| Option | Format | US price | Notes |

| Glorious Idiot Edition | Digital | $59.99 | US PlayStation listing |

The physical PS5 disc
GPTRACK50 confirms a physical PS5 Standard Edition in selected regions. A live Best Buy listing for the PS5 version corroborates the product. The director's Gamescom interview connects the SEGA publishing partnership with physical disc distribution.
No physical Glorious Idiot edition is confirmed. Steelbooks and collector's editions have not been verified either. The disc is the Standard Edition only.
Which regions receive the disc has not been listed in the sources we checked. Our physical copy page covers availability in more detail. It also explains why no boxed PC version exists.
PS5 Pro Enhanced: what the label means
The US PlayStation page labels Stupid Never Dies as PS5 Pro Enhanced. That confirms the game has some form of PS5 Pro support. It does not, on its own, tell you the frame rate or resolution.
No source we checked published performance modes, 60 FPS targets or 4K output for either PS5 model. We do not promise any of them. Performance details will be added only when they are documented or tested.
If you own a PS5 Pro, check the game's settings after launch for any available modes. We will update this section with verified information when it exists. Each update will carry the date it was checked.
PS5 features
The US PlayStation page lists DualSense vibration support. It also describes the game as offline single-player. No online multiplayer appears in the sources we checked.
The platform's accessibility list includes control options and tutorial reminders. Exact implementation should be checked in the current build. The same list contains inconsistent text about spoken dialogue, so rely on explicit language information instead.
English voice-overs are confirmed, with thirteen subtitle language options reported for the game. Our voice actors page explains why no performer cast has been verified. It also covers the fictional DAVY music credits.
Combat and systems on PS5
The PS5 version is the same single-player action RPG the developers describe. Style Eat lets Davy devour elite-monster cores to take on eleven Styles, Body Hack modifies his head, arms and legs, and Davy Burst completes the three headline systems. There is no conventional dodge or guard, and the Stupid Parry is Davy's defensive tool.
DualSense vibration is listed on the PlayStation page. How it is used during combat has not been described in the sources we checked. We will add details once they can be confirmed.
Developer estimates put the main story at roughly 20 to 30 hours. The game is built around repeated dungeon dives that each take roughly 20 to 30 minutes. Our guide explains the full loop.
Try the free demo on PS5
The First Bite Demo is free on PS5. It covers approximately the opening two hours and introduces basic actions, Bite, Style Eat, Body Hack, Davy Burst and the mall. The developer confirms that its save data can carry into the full game.
Transfers between different platforms have not been established. If you plan to buy on PS5, play the demo on PS5 so your save can continue. The demo includes two boss encounters, Afreet and Phoenix Zaza Hotfeathers.
A September 2026 update improved targeting and added an optional Combat Camera Assist. Our demo guide has the full details. Footage recorded before the update may show older camera behavior.
PS5 or PC?
The game itself is the same single-player action RPG on both platforms. PC players buy it on Steam, where the full game is app 3486530 and the demo is app 4880100. PS5 players also get the option of a physical disc in selected regions.
Achievement support is confirmed on Steam, while a PS5 trophy list has not been published. Our achievements page tracks both. Performance comparisons between platforms have not been verified.
Choose the platform you already play on, and try the demo there first. See our Steam page for the PC side. It lists both Steam app numbers and the confirmed features.
What we will not claim
We do not promise 60 FPS, 4K, PS4 compatibility or a PlayStation Plus requirement. None of them was established in the sources we checked. The game is announced for PS5, not PS4.
We also do not publish trophy lists or performance benchmarks before they can be verified. This page will be updated after the October 21, 2026 launch with dated information. Unverified claims stay off the page until then.
If you spot a change on the PlayStation Store, you can send it through our contact page. Please include your region and a screenshot. We review every correction against the official listing.
